13 hours of mandatory government programming on radio and television in 16 days


From the time President Hugo Chávez officially registered his candidacy for reelection to a fourth term of office, he aired mandatory official broadcasts (presidential speeches) that added up to 13 hours of programming.
Unidad Democrática candidate Henrique Capriles Radonski seeks for the official broadcasts to be limited to matters of national interest as of the beginning of the presidential campaign.
